Supporting Every Student’s Journey

The Grass Valley Charter School Foundation (GVCSF) is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit made up of parent volunteers, teachers, and school staff. As the school’s primary fundraising organization, our mission is to raise funds that ensure all students have access to enriching educational experiences and can thrive in our EL Education model.

We subsidize EVERY student’s fieldwork costs

We purchase updated equipment

We improve the campus. Recent examples include:

Updates to the rock climbing wall

The addition of a challenge course in the Adventure Courtyard

The Science Garden

Adventure equipment, such as new tents and camping kitchen setups

Campus murals

Staff kitchen upgrades

We fund needs-based scholarships

We support school clubs and activities, including our Adventure Program

In addition to your family’s Expedition Donation, each year the Foundation allocates a per student subsidy to increase the total number of dollars spent on fieldwork, Adventure, and Expedition, about $12,000 annually. The remaining funds are used for enhancement and improvement projects, including supporting some school clubs as well as individual staff requests and scholarships.
