About Us

The Grass Valley Charter School Foundation (GVCSF) is an independent 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Comprised of parent volunteers, school staff, and teachers, we are THE fundraising entity of the school. The Foundation’s purpose is to raise money to address the needs of our school. We aim to support diversity and inclusion so that all students are able to participate and thrive in our learning model of EL Education.

What We Do

Fieldwork

We Subsidize EVERY Student’s Fieldwork Costs

Fieldwork is made possible by a combined effort between Charter families and the Foundation. Each year, the GVCS Foundation contributes roughly 40% of the Fieldwork cost to keep our program affordable for our families.

scholarship

We Fund Needs-Based Scholarships

In addition to funding part of all fieldwork costs, we work to offer scholarships for families experiencing financial hardship. If you need assistance with Fieldwork costs this year, we encourage you to fill out the Schalarship portion of the Annual Contribution form. and turn it in to the office

campus

We Improve the Campus

After Fieldwork contributions and scholarships are covered, we use additional funds to improve our school and campus.

Recent projects include murals on bathroom and exterior walls, as well as updating the Science Garden, Library and Adventure Courtyard. We are currently working on updating and improving the front entrance to the school.

equipment

We Purchase Updated Equipment

We purchase equipment for PE, Art, and other programs at the school. We supply sound and other equipment for school plays and extra-curricular activities. Of course we also purchase equipment, such as tents and cooking utensils, for our Adventure Program.
